Disciplines of continuous execution
for faith-based organisations

What is this?

In all my years of working around the world, I have rarely met an employee or congregation member who didn’t want to play their part in something that is bigger than themselves and that matters. They put effort, emotion and thought into their work but, it is rare to see that investment bear the fruit it really deserves.

This is almost always a leadership issue. It takes skill and strategy to align the efforts of people into something coherent and effective. There are many “solutions” for doing this out there but so many of them operate in direct opposition to the way the Bible tells us to treat people. They appear to work in the short-term but they often come with a hefty price tag in terms of morale, work-life balance and mistrust between colleagues

After several decades working with all kinds of organisations, I have come to the firm conclusion that the only long-term, sustainable business principles are in fact Biblical principles. It would seem safe, then, to assume that Christian businesses should perform better than secular ones but that is rarely there case. Very often, well-intentioned Christian leaders are taking the cues and role-models from the secular world - because those are the loudest voices - but that is robbing the kingdom of the growth and success that it needs and deserves.

An organisation is not “Christian” just because its leaders or employees are followers of Jesus. It is a Kingdom business when its core strategies, methodologies and working practices are rooted in Biblical thinking.

Dcx is born out of my international consulting practice and combines proven strategies for improving results that work in harmony with the timeless principles of human interaction that we find in the Bible.

Once a compelling vision has been established and broadcast throughout the organisation, Dcx transforms results through its three-pronged approach:

FOCUS (Wildly Important Goals)

Laser-like focus on the organisations most important objective

PREDICT (Emphasis on predictive activities vs lag measures)

Secondly, discovery and prioritisation of the predictive activities that generate success on organisational goals rather than obsessing on the goals themselves

COMMIT (Dashboarding and mutual accountability)

Radical commitment to react to dashboard metrics and to one another in an atmosphere of mutual accountability.

Once established, these processes can yield very significant, repeatable gains.

    The thinking behind dcX

The videos below will explain the thinking and principles that drive the success of dcX. They work because they tap into the way people were created to collaborate. The results come when ALL the dcX disciplines are embedded into the culture of your organisation. This takes time and can be quite frustrating but the results are worth the effort.
